I travelled all the way from Punjab to Kerala with my family, along with another family, expecting a relaxing vacation. We booked two rooms for two nights, but our experience at Hindustan Beach Retreat, Varkala, was so disappointing that we decided to check out after just one night, even though we had already paid for two nights. The biggest problem was the unbearable smell throughout the property. The washrooms had a strong foul odor, the rooms themselves had an unpleasant smell, and even the hallways were filled with the same stench. It made the stay extremely uncomfortable and completely ruined the experience. The breakfast was equally disappointing. The food quality was poor, the taste was below average, and it was nowhere close to what you would expect from a hotel charging these prices. To make matters worse, despite checking out a day early because of these issues, the hotel refused to refund the unused nights charges. We found this extremely disappointing, especially considering the reason we had to leave. Looking back, I regret ignoring the warning signs in the existing Google reviews. I assumed our experience would be different, but unfortunately, many of the concerns mentioned by other guests matched exactly what we experienced. My advice to anyone planning a trip to Varkala: please stay anywhere but dont stay here. Read the Google reviews carefully before booking. I made the mistake of ignoring them, and it ended up affecting our vacation. Thankfully, the rest of our Kerala trip was wonderful, but this hotel was by far the worst part of it. I sincerely hope the management takes responsibility and improves the cleanliness, maintenance, food quality, and customer service so that future guests do not have to go through what we experienced.

A truly disappointing stay. The entire property had a horrible smellthe washroom, the room, and even the corridors. It was so uncomfortable that we decided to check out after just one night despite having paid for two nights. The hotel still refused to refund the unused nights charges. The breakfast was another big disappointment, with poor-quality food and very limited options. I wish I had taken the Google reviews seriously before booking. They reflected exactly what we experienced. Please save your money and your vacationchoose any other hotel in Varkala. Dont make the same mistake we did.

Avoid this place if you value basic cleanliness and a good nights sleep. We booked this hotel for two nights with our family but left after the first night. The room had a terrible smell, the bed linen was dirty, and the breakfast was bland and disappointing. To make matters worse, there was constant construction noise from the swimming pool area, making it nearly impossible to sleep or relax. Despite checking out a day early because of these issues, the hotel refused to refund the unused nights stay. This was one of the worst hotel experiences weve had. I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere until the property is properly maintained and the construction is completed.

Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing from start to finish. We experienced a very late check-in and didn't receive our room key until 9:00 PM. Until then, we had to use a master key that could unlock multiple rooms, which is a serious security concern and made us feel unsafe. On top of that, the hotel even charged for the water bottles kept inside the refrigerator. Overall, the service, cleanliness, maintenance, and security were all disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and comfortable stay. I personally suggest everyone not to stay at this place no proper service staff were not responding propley to the guest

The hotel did not meet even basic expectations for cleanliness, maintenance, security, or customer service. A comfortable stay depends on these essentials, and unfortunately, this hotel failed in all of them. Overall, I regret choosing this hotel. Based on my experience, I would not recommend it to anyone. There are far better hotels that provide better service, cleaner facilities, proper security, and much better value for money.
