Sam and I had the pleasure of staying at Kalappura HomeStay & HouseBoats for our final night in India before heading to Kochi for our flight back to the Netherlands, and it was very nice and tranquil experience. We stayed on a traditional houseboat, which made the experience feel authentic. The use of local materials gave the boat a charming, classic atmosphere. The bedrooms were equipped with air conditioning, while the common areas had fans, which created a very comfortable and pleasant environment throughout our stay. Note: there was also a minibar (fridge) available in the rooms. This was very important for us because we enjoy very cold drinks while relaxing on the sundeck. The food was good. There was a great variety of dishes, and the different types of fresh fish were really good. The staff were attentive and friendly. From the moment we arrived, we received a clear introduction. Their understanding of hospitality stood out. One other important thing was where the boat stopped for the night. Instead of docking in a busy, touristy area with loud music and many other boats, we stayed in a peaceful, quiet location. This made the experience even more relaxing and special. We would recommend Kalappura HomeStay & HouseBoats to anyone looking for a serene and memorable houseboat experience.

Jose helped us to arrange a houseboat ride during our stay in the guesthouse. We were amazed by the experience. The houseboat we were on was beautiful. The staff was super friendly. The food very tasty and the backwaters are stunning. Would recommend! 10/10

It was an amazing experience ! Everything was perfect. The warm welcome, the kindness of the team, the delicious and generous food, the room, the super good WiFi ! I met a nice family during my stay. The boat is really nice and well maintained. We made a tour in a small boat at the sunset, so peaceful It was really a unique and exclusive journey. Thanks again !!! Stef

We've spend 1 night on a premium three bedroom houseboat and it was GREAT. Staff is very kind, food is amazing, the boat is truly without any doubt the best one on the backwaters. We were lucky we also had nice company. Definitely one of the best experiences during our trip to India.

We stayed overnight on their three bedroom houseboat, in two rooms as a family of four and it was an excellent experience. The rooms we booked were very clean and comfortable, with en-suite bathrooms with warm-water showers (while docked overnight) and thanks to the AC also lovely and cool for a relaxing sleep. The actual cruise was great and we also got the opportunity to get up early and go on a 2 hour sunrise excursion with a smaller boat to see the smaller canals that cant be reached by a houseboat. The staff (both for booking and the crew on the boat) were extremely kind and helpful. Lastly, the food on the boat (lunch, afternoon snacks, dinner and breakfast, all included in the price) were all delicious and prepared to order. They absolutely deserve the high ratings. Highly recommended!
