Kannur Beach House is a quiet oasis set within palm trees, overlooking an idyllic lagoon and beach. Rosi and Nazir are wonderful hosts who made us feel comfortable, relaxed and at home. The rooms in this homestay are very comfortable, beautifully decorated with sea-facing balconies. The food is divine and hugely varied, with a table full of home made Keralan dishes, that Rosi explains each breakfast and evening. Theres a small kitchen area where guests can make their own tea and coffee. Rosi and Nazir are very happy to chat and share information about the local culture and sight seeing. The yoga and art retreat hosted by Rosi and Nazir was very special and a highlight of my 2026 trip to S India.

Staying at KBH was one of the most memorable experiences of my trip to Kerala. From the moment I arrived, Nazir made me feel completely at home, not just as a guest, but as part of the family. The homemade Kerala meals were a highlight every single day. Fresh, delicious, and always thoughtfully explained. I learned so much about local food and culture through every dish. Nazir is remarkably well-traveled and knowledgeable about Kerala, India, and the world. Our conversations were some of the most enriching of my entire trip. He shared stories and insights I never would have discovered on my own, and somehow also found time to play badminton and karate with me. He also took care of all the practical things seamlessly, from arranging tuk-tuks to local transportation and travel plans, making it easy to explore the area and experience local culture authentically. During my stay, I was also lucky to meet his son Sanyu, who happened to be visiting from abroad. Together, the two of them went above and beyond to make my stay truly special. Their warmth and generosity, especially with Rosi away, was deeply touching. The rooms are simple and comfortable. With a large fan and a door that opens to a lovely sea breeze, I never once felt too hot. The solar panels on the roof mean hot water is available too, which was a welcome touch. What made KBH special wasnt just the comfortable stay, it was the genuine human connection. I left feeling like I had a second family in Kannur. To get the most out of this place, Id highly recommend staying for at least a week. The real magic takes time to unfold. Note that this homestay is very popular, so plan ahead and book early. If youre a slow traveler, you will not regret it. Thank you so much. I hope our paths cross again someday. Take care, all of you!

This was my 8th stay at KBH. Every time I come back I am stunned by the extraordinary beauty of the surroundings: the lush tropical vegetation, the lagoon and the ocean in front, the palm trees swaying in the breeze and the rustling of the leaves. The rooms are simple but spacious anf functionsl and the all come with a balcony facing the sea. The beach is beautiful, clean and only a very short walk away. A long swim after sunrise was the first highlight of the day. Rosi and Nazir are wonderful hosts and make the place really unique. They help booking transport, give advice on local attracions and will arrange visits to a theyyam. The food is very delicious, fresh and varied. I always enjoyed the meals at the communal table and the interesting conversations with the hosts and other guests. Unfortunately, time always passes much too fast and eventually you have to leave this little paradise again. But I am looking forward to returning to KBH again soon.

What a great spot and experience to discover North Kerala. Rosy and her husband are very kind persons, helpful and always ready to accommodate things for their guests. The food, prepared on the spot with local ingredients, is great. The beach nearby is calm and very beautiful. The kids loved it. Will certainly go back to Kannur Beach House.

Kannur Beach House is the perfect place to reset after a dark, damp European winter. Rosi and Nazir, who have run this relaxed homestay for more than 20 years. offer a warm welcome and their visitors return year after year. Rosi supervises the kitchen and fresh ingredients are bought every day to make the home-cooked Keralan breakfasts and evening meals, taken with our hosts and fellow-guests at a long table in an outside dining area, The vegetation is lush and the birdsong and sound of the waves on the beach 50 metres from the house are lodged in my memory to draw upon and induce relaxation long after I return home.
